Anti Sexual Harassment Cell

Report of the Gender Sensitisation & Sexual Harassment Protection Sub-committee - Taki Government College initially constituted a Gender Sensitisation and Sexual Harassment Protection Sub-Committee as a part of the NAAC Committee. The members of the Sub-Committee were :

Four meetings of the Committee were held as on 08.10.2015, 11.12.2015, 14.3.2016 and 01.04.2016. The formation of a 'Gender Sensitisation and Sexual Harassment Protection Cell' (as per Vishaka Guidelines and The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013) to specifically address matters related to gender sensitisation and sexual harassment of the students by the students or staffs of the college was taken up. The proposal to include an external member, to be selected (preferably a legal expert or a human rights activist) and internal members was discussed and later finalized in subsequent Teachers' Committee Meetings. A room has been allotted specifically for the Cell where a Complaint Box is being installed. A secure ambience for girl students and women faculty is being planned. The posting of female guards in the college premise is being considered. An Awareness Programme is to be held soon where guidelines will be distributed to the students. Topics proposed for this Programme include Women's Legal Rights, Education, Health and Special Awareness of Minority Girls Students. These are to be conducted through competitive events like short plays, debates and showing of film and documentary clips. An initial start has been made in the meantime with a Sensitisation Programme on PCPNDT Act, that was held to generate awareness of the College Students on "Save the Girl Child", organized by Department of Zoology in collaboration with Gana Unnayan Parishad, on 22-03-2016 at Taki Government College.
